Chronology
After the events of Batman (2022), Oz Cobb, aka The Penguin, attempts to take over the criminal underworld in Gotham. From melting makeup to filming in sub-zero temperatures, Colin Farrell and Kristin Miliotti talk about how they got into their roles during the production of Penguin. Colin Farrell fought hard to get his version of the Penguin to smoke tobacco in Batman (2022), but failed. However, in his own series, the character is portrayed as a casual tobacco user, preferring cigars.
The umbrella falls and the logo changes to the Warner Bros
logo. Appears in Graham Norton and guests: Lady Gaga/Demi Moore/Colin Farrell/Richard Ayoade/Jack Savoretti (2024). For me, Batman simply had the best depiction of Gotham City on film. The environment was disgustingly humid and visually everything you would want to see in what is known.
This series completely accelerates these aspects and builds on the film perfectly
A big part of this was his underground mob world where Oswald, aka Penguin, was starting to take control. I can’t say enough about Colin Farrell’s performance in this film and honestly, this might be his magnum opus. The man gives the character the most hardened and disgusting vibe possible, which is done so well that it resonates. And without Batman, the intrigue on his part is so strong that it is not even felt.
I might miss it though
The other side characters are pretty well done, although some of the casting choices seem a little off to some. This series perfectly continues the creation of the Batman universe and I can’t wait to see what comes of it. One of the best series of the last decade. Give Colin Farrell all the accolades he deserves for this role.
