The town set was built specifically for the series in North Beaver Bank, Nova Scotia
Chronology
Unravel the mystery of a town in the middle of the United States that imprisons anyone who enters. While struggling to maintain a sense of normalcy and find a way out, the residents must also survive the dangers of the surrounding forest.
All that remains are the cobblestone streets and driveways on which the faux town has been built
Known as Beaver Bank Villa, it has a long history, and was once home to apartments, a community center, a fire station, a school, a church, a supermarket, etc. (all demolished by 2004) to provide housing for the employees of a nearby military radar base that operated in the 1950s and 1960s.

When Boyd climbs a distant tree, he finds himself at the bottom of a well. (Presumably) Martin drops a rope into the room above him, despite his wrists being shackled with chains.
Que Sera, Sera (Whatever Will Be, Will Be) written by Jay Livingston and Ray Evans, sung by The Pixies
If you liked early seasons of Lost, early seasons 1 of Wayward Pines, when it was still mysterious, Society, early The Walking Dead, etc., then I think it’s worth at least a seven-day free trial of MGM Plus. Take advantage of that and check out the first few episodes and you might enjoy the entire season as much as I did.
As others have noted, some of the minor characters are a bit too complicated
As others have mentioned, I felt the need to watch the show from start to finish in a few sittings, which is why I did the series. The acting leaves a bit to be desired, the budget is clearly smaller than expected but not too tight, and the plot may ultimately fall flat, but for now I’m definitely looking forward to season 2.
