But the pacing?
Let’s keep this review nice and tidy, shall we? No spoilers here – you wouldn’t even think of spoiling the secret. Now the story itself is perfect. Nothing to write home about. Pretty slow, I must say.
That woman is an absolute gem
It’s a bit plodding at times. I’m afraid the drama doesn’t exactly move the world, though there are a few select moments that manage to catch the eye. As for the piece, it screams “high-end.” Still, it’s all fairly competent, though certainly not a masterpiece. But let’s not be too harsh, there are some amazing performances, especially from Tabu. The cinematography and music are good but a little disappointing compared to DUNE.
So would I recommend it?
Direction? Well, it gets the job done, but it doesn’t exactly spin gold, if you know what I mean. If you’re dying to go behind the scenes and see where it all begins, be sure to give it a spin. Just don’t expect fireworks. Instead check out the Indian miniseries BRINDA; which may be low-budget but packed with intriguing storytelling and realistic performances.
