When Boyd enters a distant tree, he finds himself at the bottom of a well
The site, known as Beaver Bank Villa, has a long history and many years ago housed housing, a community hall, a fire station, a school, a church, a convenience store, and more (all demolished in 2004) to support the workers at the nearby military radar base that operated in the 1950s and 1960s. All that remains are the cobblestone streets and alleys on which the fake town was built.

When Boyd emerges from the well, Martin is the only one in the room and is chained to the wall. Martin did not throw the rope.

If you enjoyed the early seasons of Lost, the beginning of Wayward Pines Season 1 when it was still a mystery, Society, the beginning of The Walking Dead, etc., I think it’s worth at least enjoying the MGM Plus seven-day free trial.
Try the first two episodes and you might enjoy the entire season as much as I did
As others have mentioned, I felt the need to watch it in multiple sittings, which is something I haven’t felt the urge to do with a show in a long time. As others have also noted, the acting of some of the supporting characters is a bit lacking, the budget is clearly lower than intended, but not by much, and the plot could end up going nowhere, but at this point I’m still waiting for Season 2.
